Sing Stars give all children the chance to shine, to learn vocal skills, have fun doing what they love and develop the learning powers.
Sing Stars are available for sessions to run during class time, as afterschool clubs, as breakfast clubs or as holiday clubs at your schools.
Prices depend on requirements, however we charge a fixed fee of £50/ week for the first term. We are happy to provide a one off session as a trial but then we book per term. Sing Stars is a structured course where benefits for the children are achieved over the course of a term, through routine, repetition and ongoing key subjects ie confidence boosting, group singing, vocal warm ups. Every class is aimed at the particular age group of the class, with lots of structure remaining the same for learning results but at the same time changing the activities and songs each week to keep interesting and fun. Sessions include fun warm up exercises, fun vocal activities, fun tongue twisters and lots of songs to sing in pairs and in groups. Songs are suggested by the class so that the songs are those that they love, while Sing Stars teachers choose from the list to make sure the songs are relevant to the class structure and to the age group and interest of everyone in the class.

Sing Stars is a Glee style class, so pop songs and child friendly songs for both boys and girls are chossen. We do not choose musical songs or classical songs unless the class majority choose them themselves.

All of the Sing Stars team have CRB certificates and have all been through a reference check prior to working for the company. CRB forms are available upon request at every Sing Stars session. All the Sing Stars team have experience of working in schools and childrens centres and have experience and a passion for working with children. All Sing Stars session teachers have qualifications in either teaching or in the vocal coaching profession. We only have a small team and your sessions will be taught by the same teacher so to build a strong working relationship and no disruption to the children. It is important to us that the children also form a fond relationship with their teacher so they feel at ease with the lessons and have lots of fun and fulfil their learning potential. From time to time due to illness and holidays we may offer an equally professional member of staff but we try not to do this where possible. We try to avoid this by taking our own holidays within the public school holidays.

Please email singstarsmk@gmail.com or please call 07540801395 if you would like Sing Stars Sessions at your childs school or if you are a school or youth club who would like to book a session. Or please see the website for more information.www.kaleyentertainments.wix.com/singstars

Uplift children from the lows of depression and float with relief

According to figures from the Office of National Statistics, one child in 10 in Great Britain aged between five and sixteen has a recognisable mental disorder, with 4% of children suffering from an emotional disorder such as anxiety or depression.
With depression comes; hopelessness, sadness and a lack of self worth. It is with these issues, that the chance of a natural and healthy development can be thrown aside unless ofcourse you act now!! I urge parents to see the signs, I cannot believe the signs are missed in many cases, a parent must know that a child shouldnt be  constantly tierd, constantly sad and constantly loosing interest in their hobbies. If a child isn’t eating well, isn’t playing, isn’t feeling excited about things, isn’t trying at school and isn’t socializing – its obvious!!! For me the signs of a child depressed is awful, a child should be carefree, enjoying playing, laughing, smiling, using imaginary enjoyment and being nieve to the negative things in society.
The important thing is to not be embarrassed, it doesn’t mean as a parent you are doing a bad job, you are not being judged… YOU CAN HELP!! ITS IMPORTANT!! A low self esteem is easily helped once you accept your child is depressed.
Dr Navina Evans is consultant psychiatrist at London's Capio Nightingale Hospital and the East London and City Mental Health Trust.
"The obvious signs to look out for include a low mood and unhappiness, with tearfulness or irritability that may not be related to anything specific," she says.
"Also watch out for reactions when something sad happens. For instance, when someone dies it's normal for everyone in the family to feel distressed. But if you feel your child's reaction is too extreme or has gone on for too long, that could also be a sign of depression." http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/childhealth6-15/Pages/depressioninyourchildren.aspx

Depression and low self esteem in children will massively effect their development both emotionally and intellectually. Not to mention social development and physical development. Depression must be tackled before the shocking effects of self harm, eating disorders and drug abuse set in. Which all have lasting effects. Parents yourselves can help by improving confidence in your children, offering them your guidance and help, communicating with them, helping them express their feelings and by acting positively yourself.
If your child may need further help then its time to ask the experts…
Dr Robert Hicks, expert for depression states in the BBC Newspage:
“Treatment consists of talking therapies, such as counselling or psychotherapy, and antidepressants. Simply talking about the problems to family and friends is often a major step towards recovery.
Although children might not find this easy at first, it's essential to help them understand why they became depressed, how they can deal with the underlying problems in their life and how they can develop a more positive view of their world. This usually involves some sort of psychotherapy.
Like adults, children with depression can't just 'snap out of it' or 'pull themselves together'. It's a long-term problem with episodes of depression lasting, on average, eight months.
While the majority of depressed children are back to normal after a year or two, at least half are likely to become depressed again within a couple of years.
Children usually respond fairly quickly to treatment. Antidepressants are rarely needed but may be useful in some cases. Most children can be treated at home or as a hospital outpatient, so rarely need to stay in hospital.
If you're worried that your child might be suicidal, talk to your doctor immediately - and try talking to your child too”. “http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/emotional_health/mental_health/disorders_depression_child2.shtml

Can teaching children to value themselves and others help them develop?

We at Sing Stars pride our classes on developing childrens self esteem, encourage them to try, to have respect for themselves and others, without judging each other on our weaknesses but our strengths.

Empowerment and confidence are key ingredient in maximizing children's potential in academic achievement, social success, and personal happiness. This is an obviously an arduous process; it is not instantly going to be achieved. It is important that many methods combine together to reach the desired result. There are many innovative forms of empowerment methods available, but the most important thing here is that we do what we can to show children that they have self worth and individuality that they must be proud of. They must VALUE THEMSELVES and OTHERS for a happy and social connective life.

By obtaining a strong relationship with themselves they will equip themselves with abilities and positivity to try. They will then evolve into helping each other which will inevitably result in a connection and empowerment of children globally. Children process information from the world around them much differently than adults, they have distinct needs for managing the effects of stress and trauma but with a highly developed sense of consciousness for their feelings, they will then be able to manage fear, anger, anxiety and any other circumstances trying to cause effect to their wellbeing.

With a healthy sense of individuality, children will be able to help themselves and help others with respect, sensitivity and empathy, resulting in the connectivity of children worldwide.

So the main quest for adults is to help children learn valuable life skills early, which will mean that they will be better able to deal with challenging situations when they are older. Thus nurturing their own strives for personal life enrichment.

The empowerment of children to find their true values and voices is a statement , which was the inspiration behind the motivation for Sing Stars. Sing Stars teaches children to sing and develop their voices and encourages their joy for singing and performing. But it is also to develop their confidence, give them a strength to vocalise their thoughts, express their emotions and to show them that if they try, practice and work hard anything is possible beyond their own worries and weaknesses. Sing Stars teaches children to value themselves and their talents aswell as value
ing others while they form great friendships in the singing club.

Do confident children achieve more?

Confidence allows children to develop better relationships , communication skills and social skills. Reading body language and facial expressions is crucial for forming relationships and connecting and understanding the world. Ultimately, learning these skills are empowering for a child. Without these skill their achievement potential is lessened. With these skills a child will be less fearful and more willing to try.

Low confidence, anxiety and poor self-esteem leads to under-performance, unpopularity, and greatly reduced happiness and satisfaction with life. And of course we want our children to live happy, healthy fulfilled lives, with the attitude that they CAN reach potentials, enjoy life and be open to many amazing and life changing possibilities.

So with this YES a child will achieve more with confidence, as confidence brings self esteem, a value for themselves and their skills. So what can we do to help?

So how can we help our children be more confident?

We at Sing Stars MK, offer confidence building singing club lessons that aim to do just that!!
